I also felt the black Argyle jacket with the silver buttons might be too dressy for many daytime occasions. After reading the opinions on this thread, I am thinking the grey tweed or the navy blue Argyle jacket with the silver buttons may be a good all around option. My kilt has a lot of navy blue in it, the navy blue might be the best choice for me.
