    Does Clergy = Clark?

I have a Clark Ancient tartan casual kilt from Kiltstore.net... is that the same thing?

Well, similar but not the same. Today, the Clark tartan is usually woven with white overstripes, where the Clergy blue tartan is woven with grey or sometimes light blue. But it will give you an idea of the general look of the kilt.

The kilt I will be making is the Clergy blue, ancient colors, made from Lochcarron's 16 oz cloth. It will be box pleated, to show the blue stripe on the black.

    Aye,
    Matt

Then I definitely have the Clark Ancient. The white stripes on that bad boy stick right out!

I'll get a picture taken tonight and post it tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to seeing it.

On the Sportkilt page, the Clergy Ancient "seems" to have a white stripe?

Is that right? or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Maybe it's my monitor.

Anyway, I really want to see what it looks like in a kilt, so thanks again.

Prester - I think that xmarks member richardljohnson has a Clerk from USAKilts. Here's his public profile: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/m...hp?userid=1131

I think I heard somewhere along the line that the Clergy was sometimes referred to as Clerk, and sometimes as Clark. Or am I mad? In any case, I recall that when the galleries were up, richard had posted a couple of pics. Email him and see if he'll repost in this thread.

    Steve
