I talked to Machummel today and said I would post for both of us. He is busy trying to get a start on orders made at the games before they finally get off for there honeymoon.
We were pleased to finally meet some more people from x-marks. I missed meeting Archangel but will meet up with him again sometime down the road. I know we both wish we had more time to meet everyone properly but it was a busy weekend.
We would like to thank you for your nice comments on your post Archangel. This was a big step for a guy that was setting out to make kilts for himself and friends. He can't wear wool so he wanted to get a kilt in an alternative fabric. He started making 4-5 yard kilts out of PV that had all the traditional fixings ( taper, buckels etc.) and use quality fabric in non-wool, wool and wool blends. That's what started the casual kilt for him. Almost all the companies out there are making a non-traditional kilt, a casual kilt. A 4-5 yard kilt is a casual kilt. You can dress it up but it still isn't a full 8 yard.
After a while we all wanted traditional style kilts in the full 8 yards in our favourite fabrics. That's what started the 4-5 yard and 8 yard custom made PV, poly-wool, Denim, twill, camo, treated camo and wool kilts. I wore an 8 yard poly-wool in the black watch measured and made for me and it sure does feel and look alot like the real thing. Most of us can tell but there were many who couldn't.
Canadian Casual Kilts is small but it grew by leaps and bounds on the weekend. You have to start somewhere, why not at one of the most expensive (for vendors) but biggest games in Canada. It was very incuraging and will only make him grow to show his product better and more often.
