Indeed.
When one makes what appears to be a prejudiced statement and rails against prejudice in the same sentence, I would also like some clarification.

Fab gay wedding
Hmmmm..... well.....the type who thinks they are superior cos they have found Jaysus I guess. Watch Oscar or Country Music Awards and see how many DONT thank Jaysus or Gawd for helping them to win their award. There arent many. Their talent would appear to count for nothing in their own humble opinion or are they just trying to appear self effacing/modest? Oh lordy I think I can see the villagers coming over the hill again with their torches and pitchforks. Righto..I'm orf to draw me a pentagram and shag a goat and sacrifice a virgin. Or have I got that wrong again? So....anyways....arent kilts great? (Wow....nice right turn back onto the kilts forum even if I say so myself)

Smug superiority sucks, whether it's coming from a Christian fundamentalist bigot or a secular fundamentalist bigot.
Then there's the trousered fundamentalist bigot who hates kilts one way or the other (but sees no problem with women wearing pants). And then there's the unbifurcated fundamentalist bigot who sneers at anyone in pants as a lockstep conformist.
All leaves on the same weed. Break out the herbicide already.

Now if you don't want the religious right attacking homosexuality here, why try and call them out. I think that a lot of people have moved on from this thread and held this tongue on their personal beliefs, only to have you calling them all rednecks and provoking them. If the shoe was on the other foot, it would be just as bad. I'm not gay or christian, so I would rather see this thread not turn into a stupid arguement due to someone that likes to stir the pot and run. Let's try and practise what we preach, shall we?

Thank you for your answer. Now, just one more question. Why do you think it acceptable to parody the names of God? I am not telling you that you can not do it if it amuses you. I'm telling you it does not add to your stature.

OK, time to point out the rules again.
Threads concerning Religion are subject to deletion with out notice. There are other forums to discuss religion so please take those posts elsewhere.
Kiltbear, you're over the line. Cease and desist. And before it comes up,
Don't bother complaining about the rules. It will get you no where and make you look silly. The rules are here for the overall protection of this community.

Prejudice: A preconceived preference or idea.
Bigot: a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own
BTW a christian who thinks of himself as superior because they are christian (or calls themself a christian) is a hypocrite. If a "christian" acts superior around you try refering them to 1 Peter 5:5
"Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
'God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.'"
As far as the gay wedding with kilts. If these two guys are going to get married. At least they are doing it with style.

I didn't see the episode, but I did visit the link. I read the description and saw the photo.
These guys were finally sold on kilts because they looked and felt masculine wearing them. Also, they don't look overtly feminine in the photo. In fact they look like a couple of guys I might go drinking with any time.
I didn't like Richard Hatch in the Utilikilt. Not because he's gay, but because he's such a slimy weasle -- well that and the fact that he really didn't do anything to show the advantages of the Utilikilt. He went naked most of the time.
Hatch was no sissy. He kept his tribe fed by spear-fishing for sharks. One shark bit him -- latched onto his arm. If I remember correctly, he bit it back and later served it up for dinner. If he wasn't otherwise such a creep, I'd sit down for a pint with him.
Not all effeminate men are gay and not all gay men are effeminate. I've met a few gay men who could snap me in half like a pretzel stick.
I've also met some very straight men who totally lack backbone and let their wives and children walk all over them.

P.L.L-W.G.A.'s in Kilts

I don't suppose you're lumping Hamish in with this image? If you are, you might have a problem here.
Anyway, fear not. The gentlemen on the show did not meet the P.L.L-W.G.A. criteria. (My review is a few posts above.) In fact, they were dead-set against wearing kilts until they had an epiphany. It's an experience that any kilted man could identify with, gay or straight.
So if projecting a straight image is what's required to promote kilts, then I guess that episode of that Jim Belushi show (where he got duped into wearing a kilt to work) is your preferred model. After all, the character was married and had a construction job. The fact that wearing the kilt was the subject of ridicule should mean, well, nothing, really. If it's all about image and association, content be damned.

1. The Show is not about Promoting Kilt Wearing. It is about Wedding Planing and reflects the Canadian's view in diversity.
2. It may come to a shock to you, but some gay men share the same view as most straight guys: They think the kilts are too girlly and not masculine enough.
Gay or Straight; people are people; men are men.
