I'll grab a piece of the tartan tonight when I go home and bring it in tomorrow for a quick scan, and I'll post a pic on this thread.
Lochcarron designed this tartan quite recently, and what makes it quite unique when viewed up close is that they used a twisted gray and black thread for some of the stripes, which gives some of the blocks a heathery look that is remarkably like some of the fine-grained gray granites that I've seen in the field. Anyway, you'll see what I mean when I post the pic. It is reminiscent of the Gray Douglas but more muted.
I honestly don't know any more about it, but I can try to find out.
Several of you have asked for a close-up, so here it is. You'll see the "tweediness" in some of the blocks. It's not the scan - the tartan actually looks like that because of the two-color twisted thread that they used.
