Wouldn't that be 27/10? tee-hee *ducking*

Welcome, from a kilted Virginian

Welcome Cousin Bryan,
I too have a Macdonald Lord of the Isles Hunting. Love it! Hand sewn by Kathy Lare of Kathy's Kilts. My Macdonald line goes back to Uig and Staffin on Skye.
Right now I'm drooling over the minutes waiting for my new Macdonald of Kingsburgh (just south of Uig) tartan to arrive from Kathy.
Glad to have you aboard, its a great board, jump in.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

Welcome.
I've often wondered how one trains for the highland games. Where can you find practice telephone poles?

There's getting to be more MacDonalds here than in Scotland!
Welcome to yet another!
There are SO MANY kilt sources now, that you're bound to find what you're looking for. I own a couple BearKilts and love the things. You just can't say enough for craftsmanship. USAKilts will get the kilt to you with ease, and Kathy will fit it to you with her trained fingers. You have the options to add to your collection and be happy that you did it.

The telephone poles themselves are easy to find: the hard part is pulling them out of the ground  .
Actually, since I'm just starting out at this stuff I'm mostly focusing on strength and technique (ask me why I have old bowling balls in the garage-go ahead, ask me). The folks who know how to do this properly say "focus on technique-speed and distance will come. Meanwhile, ski season is approaching and I'm not done with flyfishing yet...looks like I'll still be a wuss at the start of the games season.
Bryan...tying some flies this weekend...
