Officer or enlisted apron?

He say's the one pictured is an officer's style apron so am I correct to assume that the enlisted would have the center stripe be the yellow stripe instead of the blue?

You'll probably get a better post from Matt or Cajunscot but there two things here. One is that I'm under the impression that the Black Watch was the only one that distinguished tartan by rank. The second is that my feeling is that for that price, and duty, etc., you could probably get one made here. or there, in the US.

forgot about them, great price. There was something on one of the other threads about the material that cavscout might want to double-check, I can't remember. Other than that, the company was getting good feedback.

I wouldn't know about the quality/ price of the kilt (I have never bought from Ebay and do not even know how it really works!), although I suppose it looks alright. However, the guy selling it obviously has no idea about the positioning of the kilt pin!

I thought it was rather high also Hamish, but in another thread there was a photo of two young men in world war 1 that had their kilt pin about that high.

I was just curious about what the actual distinction was between how an officers kilt was aproned different than an enlisted. My Gordon Modern is pleated to stripe and has the yellow strip as the center strip of the apron. I assume this is the enlisted apron?

I can't say I've ever heard of this distinction before between officers and other ranks' kilts.
