    Hmmmm

The German National Tartan...it actually looks kind of nice.

Any other pics of it? As a kilt?

I've got one on order from Matt. He had the cloth on hand, so I went ahead and ordered. It was on my wish list, to honor the family on my mother's mother's side, which is 100% German.

After my kilt, he probably only has enough left over for one or two more, so if you want one, you should probably order now, or it will have to be special woven.

Just in case any of my fellow Brits are getting a little worried, I do believe the suspenders referred to in this post are known as braces over here.

though.......it could be a novel way of keeping one's socks up. hmmmm

I'll bet you were trying to figure out how a chest strap was involved!

My next kilt is definitely going to be one in the German National Tartan. If I can save up the money before Matt runs out of the stock cloth he has, I'll be ordering it from him!

I was able to get him an Amerikilt based on his jeans size- and I'll be making him a casual kilt as soon as the twill comes in so I'll have his measurements handy. I have little money tucked away, so I'm thinking this would make a nice Christmas present, since I know the tartan he wants.

I just wanted your opinion on whether getting someone a traditional kilt as a surprise is a good or bad idea.
Definitely go for the kilt. Maybe it will help make up for the lederhosen.
