I bought both a Prince Charlie and an Argyll on eBay and they're great.

If you're used to custom-tailored clothes, don't bother with eBay. If you buy off the rack, like most of the world, eBay is just fine. Just be sure to deal with a seller with a good feedback rating.

Most cuffs can be let out, btw.

    Modifying to Charlie

There's a book out, "So you're going to wear the kilt" (or maybe its' "So you want to wear the kilt"). Not sure of the author or publisher, but I believe most vendors that sell Highland wear carry it. I understand it has a decent set of instructions for modifying a used tux jacket to pass for a Prince Charlie.
All skill and effort is to no avail when an angel pees down your drones.
