    completley off topic...but funny

Got this form my little sister this morning...

Barbara Walters of 20/20 did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan, several yeard before the Afghan conflict. She noted that the women customarily walked 5 paces behind their husbands. She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands. From Ms.Walters vantage point, despite overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem to walk even farther back behind their husbands & are happy to maintain the old custom. Ms Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked "Why do you now seem happy with the old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?" The women looked Ms. Walters straight in the eyes and without hesitation said, "Land mines."

    have a good one

    Afganistan's plains...

Two quotes from Rudyard Kipling instantly popped into my heid after reading that snippet:

"For the female of the species is more deadly than the male."

    ~and~

"When you're wounded on Afganistan's plains,
and the women come out to cut up your remains,
Just roll to your rifle, and blow out yer brains,
And go to your Gawd like a soldier!"

    Sorry -- couldn't resist! ;)

    Cheers,

    Todd

If their husbands wore kilts they could probe the ground as they walked.
