Hmm, this topic is now a moldie oldie, but thought I'd add a bit along the lines of cloves' post.
Murphy Stout's unofficial list of Celtic punk/rock music:
Dropkick Murphys
Flogging Molly
Pogues
Nipple Erectors (Shane MacGowan's band before the Pogues)
Popes (Shane MacGowan's band after the Pogues)
Boys From County Hell (Pogues tribute band)
Real McKenzies
Blood or Whiskey
These bands are more punk/oi (that is, some of them are English :-P), but deserve mentioning:
Exploited (the mightiest Scottish band ever)
Clash (did you all know Joe Strummer was in the Pogues for a while?)
Stiff Little Fingers (from Belfast)
Street Dogs (Mike McColgan's, former DKM lead singer's band)
Bruisers (Al Barr's, current DKM lead singer's former band)
The Business (They're "the Guinness Boys!")
Cockney Rejects
Peter and the Test Tube Babies
Oppressed
Sham 69 (did songs about Ulster)
Thug Murder (Ok, they're Japanese, but they wear boots 'n braces, driving caps, and can step dance!)
Unseen (good Boston band)
Ducky Boys (also good Boston Band)
U.S. Roughnecks (they're from Sacramento, but sound a lot like the Rejects or the Business).
Rap:
House of Pain/Everlast (a little obvious, but I thought still should be mentioned)
Celtic/Pagan Metal
Aisling
Cruachan
Defy Category:
Black 47
Anway, that's just the bands I've heard or seen personally. Hope that helps add some information, or maybe rekindles the topic. :-)
