I will go ahead and say that this website is not endorsing the sending of money to anyone. Anyone who sends money to anyone else is sending it at their own risk. I am not saying that this certain situation is risky but anytime you send money to anyone you dont know personally it is risky.

That being said, Dread has made it clear that he doesnt want anyone to send him money. I say respect the man who is having a hard time and grant his wish for prayers and good thoughts.

Dread I suggest finding a civil service lawyer. There are plenty of pro bono lawyers in your area (not so much pro bono as they have a duty to offer a certain amount of time to pro bono causes) and it wouldn't be hard to look one up and get them to help you out. If you have the gumption to tell us about it then tell someone who can truly help the situation.

I would like nothing better than to be there for you. Well, except that you didn't have this problem. But you're too far away, (I know, blame the victim).

M y wife and I are/were pretty involved with our local AA. There is nobody can scam like a reformed, gonna fall off the wagon drunk. I was discussing the whole ugly mess last night with my SO and I decided that I would rather be taken for a fool than taken for a heartless bastard. A little cash is not gonna hurt us in the long run and MAYBE it will help a member of our little corner of the web.

PS Dread I think you HATE being in the spot you are in. Is there a local grocery store we could buy merchandise cards at? Always felt better buying food than giving money.

    All the best!

Local grocery chains are Bi-Lo, Publix, and Sam's Club. But Sams means having to bum a ride somehow.
