Today is my 30th birthday. So far in my life I have accomplished my only real lifetime goal: thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. However, in achieving that goal I discovered that I have two more goals lined up: the Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. I'm hiking the PCT this spring, and the CDT within one or two years. After that, I guess I can start thinking about settling down.

Don't forget the American Discovery Trail that goes coast to coast.

There's also the Sea To Sea route which travels 7,778 miles from Cape Gaspé, Québec, to Cape Alava, Washington.

The three long trails I mentioned form the Triple Crown of U.S. hiking, and - for now - that's all I want to do.

In your honor, I'll "hike" a beer up to my face.

What in the Sam Hill are you gonna do in the next 30 to top the previous?!

I've already hiked a few up there myself!

Well, like I said, I'm going to add another 6,000 miles to my already-2,000 mile Bear Kilt. Other than that, just wear a kilt and enjoy life!

    Andrew.
