Right in that immediate are Ron are probably five large UK events every year, and I see Marines from Camp Pendleton at virtually all the SoCal events buying kilts.
In fact, I'd wager that more Marines buy kilts than any other single demographic in California (except maybe gay men).

Ahhh, that explains it. Wandering Oceanside, the city croweded with Marines in civies, no one got smart, but plenty eyeballed my black UK Workman's yesterday.
No problems flying back to Phoenix from Sandy Eggo in the tan Survival II..
In fact, when we got our tickets and checked our baggage the young lady behind the counter for the airline said she wanted to get one for her man. Gave her a card.
I've flown way too much in my life...this is the first time kilted...and it beats all the other comfort ideas I've tried...loved it.

On a similar note, while my wife and I were cruising in the Caribbean, I wore my UK Survival most of the time. A woman approached my wife to ask if we were from Seattle. "Everyone in Seattle wears kilts." was her reason for asking. They have cut a huge trail for the market.

UK in airports
One time one of the guards at Reagan asked to have her picture taken with me .
A lot of younger almost goth or grunge types recognize the brand also ;)

UKs get lots of recognition at the RenFaires, the staf refer to us as "The Utilikilt Army". Told Steve up there in Seattle he needs to make a t-shirt with that slogan. You can always tell a Utilikilt !

Ummm, Cameron....
Good idea with a minor modification...Utilikilt Marines
My USMC tshirts and hooded sweatshirt go very well with my basil survival, tan original and tan survival, black workman's black survival, and best - my UK brown leather.
What with Seattle being near the ocean and all...just think Marines would be more appropriate....or at least an alternate choice.
Trying not to choke on tongue in cheek....
