    Hello Alan,

I'm sorry for your loss. As for the tartan pattern, I suspect that if it repeats every two setts, then it is just one sett that is twice as large as you think it is. Whether it's asymetrical is another question.

This one is tough. I'll be back when I feel more like it.

I might have enough for two kilts, if I make one a box-pleat. Or perhaps I'll make a feile-beig for Ren Faire from the 3 yards I'll have left over.

    Alan,

My deepest sympathies. I began reading this thread after being away for a couple of days on a mini-vacation with the family and was sorry that I had not been able to lend my support sooner. I see now that my prayers and good wishes are too late for Jim. I hope that they are not too late to cofort you. My wife, her sister, and I went through the loss of my wife's sister's husband (my brother-in-law) to liver cancer earlier this year. He was diagnosed late last year and was on track to get on the transplant list. Nut in May he got very sick, and he passed away on June 10. He was also only 52 and one of the most well liked people you could want to know, as your Jim sounds to be as well. The viewing and funeral were literally standing room only. Your post has brought back going to his funeral, and driven home that he is gone (which is not to detract from the pain you are feeling now, just sharing some of my own thoughts). I wish you the best in getting through this time.

The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long
