No love for the Johnnie Walker line? The Red Label is a bit harsh, but Black is nice enough and Green is a treat. I drank a bit of Gold Label over the weekend (supplied by a friend) and found it entirely palatable.
Black is probably in the price range you're looking for, Damax.

P.S. If you're looking for Irish whiskey, forget Bushmills. Get Jamesons.

Sorry Bob I forgot Jamesons Also a very nice whiskey as is Tullamore dew.
I mentioned Bushmills because it's the only Distillery in Ireland I've visited.I remember getting a huge sample of black bush in the bar after the tour.

It is a matter of personal taste. I go for Bushmills.

Not that there is anything wrong with Johnie Walker. In fact, I tried some Black Label a couple of weeks ago and it was nice. But, I think most people prefer Single Malt Whisky and Johnnie Walked is a blended Whisky.
