I have an 8 yard 13 oz in the same tartan. Is yours pleated to the white stripe? It looks VERY sharp!

    Ah Saltcoats, the Scottish Riviera.

I'm getting a tear in my eye thinking of all those Glasgow Fair holidays we had there. From getting lost on the beach, to storming the rocks at Ardrossan.

(It may also be a remembrance of the pain of watching my toes turn blue in the water. Gulf Stream warming currents my **** ;-) )

...and Ayrshire is where the rest of my ancestors who didn't bail out (first to Londonderry and thence to the USA...before it was the USA, actually) seem to be located. We haven't had much contact with them but I'm hoping to get over sometime and check out the scene. Seems that I even have a distant relation who plays for Auchinleck Talbot...that's how (through the magic of the internet) I managed to find the connection.

We'll have to field a contingent from the Chicago area to attend the Highland Games up your way.

    a blether

RockyR: nae, mine is not pleated to the stripe, not sure why, maybe because of the size 48/50 waist at about 5 yards.

Tony: well its not the Riviera to be sure.. beats a holiday in Iraq.. and its ma familys hame, lol cold water swim at the shore, brave soul indeed..

Argonian: the internet is indeed magic, and the world is now smaller for it.. hae you seen the ayrshire district tartans ?

    cheers to you all..
