    A mixtue of styles...

Here is a pic from out recent Epcot outing. Besides the mix of SW nightstalker tartan with a SK sporran (OK fanny pack, but they claim it is a sporran!), I think that the Kennedy Space center tank top and fez add a certain quirky international flavor!

David, thanks for the link, I will have to check it out as I have never heard of him. And you are on my list for accessories! Right now I have just 2 sporrans, the SK in the picture and a plain black (i.e. cheap) one from SWK. The black leather is too fancy for kicking aroung and so I make do with the SK fanny pack for casual occasions right now. Will get one of your, probably after the first of the year, when my finances have recovered from all the kilts I have on order!

Now KCW, don't you realize that ALL your disposable funds will be tied up with kilts and accessories from now on!;)

Soon you will realise that the black leather is just right for kicking around and you need a fancy one for that special occasion

    Ditto.

The three-tassel sporran (I assume this is the one you're talking about) is the epitome of casual wear with the kilt. I wore a bum bag as a "sporran" when I was hiking, but otherwise wear a black three-tassel sporran every day (at least until I get my brown Freelander sporran, that is!). To the pub, wearing sandals on the beach, short hikes and mountain ascents, jamming on the guitar, attending bluegrass concerts and beer festivals, chopping down trees, camping in the rain and mud, splitting firewood - my black leather sporran has done all of these things with casual grace.

Shhhh, I do but my wife doesn't yet! I can only hide purchase up to a certain amount, and so often, as filling my Chevy Avalanche with gas! Given gas prices, that comes close to the price of an AK, USAK philabeg, etc., but she knows I don't drive far enough to have to gas up every 2 days! My commute is only 4 miles one way!

    Raphael and Andrew,

Don't tell me that! I don't want my illusions shattered, or don't want to know that the 3 tassel sporran is not as formal as my co-workers think! Actually, I think that I would see it more casual if it did not have the chain! That may reveal my ignorance and newness to kilts, but there you go. Although, I have had my eye on some on eBay for casual wear, that are fancier from a tooled leather POV. The 3 tassel is a pretty plain accessory.

Anyway, thanks (NOT ) for bursting my bubble about this great sporran I wear to work!! I thought it must be very formal since I spent $25 for it (although others were going for $85-$100), and had a nice junk metal chain!
