Hey all I might not know a whole lot about sporrans in particular, but I can certainly recognize some really well done leathercraft when I see it. The guy who made it does everything by hand, including hand tooling the celtic design on the front...looks like a lot of time and skill involved. I'm really happy with my purchase, so I figure I would spread the word to those of you who may be in the market for a good handmade sporran. here's a link to his website: http://members.aol.com/holz636/myhomepage/index.html

Really nice sporran, I love it! Pity Holz doesn't have pictures of sporrans on his website tho.
That is one good looking sporran, you have excellent taste!
Very nice. How did you decide to purchase from this man, instead of from someone who advertises making sporrans? Sherry
I could tell by your post, that you really like it. Congratulations. That is one nice looking sporran!

Amazingly enough, I was the only bidder....go figure. I talked to him, and he does a lot of stuff for reenactors including making powder horns and whatnot. I think if people start asking him about sporrans, I think he'll certainly be more inclined to make some more and post pics of them on his site. anyways........I'm getting pulled off the computer as we speak :-) bye for now
