Your looking good, but lose the red socks.(save 'em for casual daywear)
Some black socks would've gone great with that outfit.

But let's be honest here - who was looking at the socks with that woman on his arm anyway?
Looking good (the kilt too)!

Red hose
Just to explain the red hose thing. The ball is called the Red Hot Strawberry ball, the dress explaination is, "Dress to impress, come as your favorite star, or just wear red, I decided to do two out of three." For the upcoming wedding it will be traditional cream hose.
Thanks for the great comments, I am sure my wife will blush tonight when she reads them.

Now the question is: where did you get those red hose?

Red hose
I bought them at Dick's sporting goods, they are just regular soccer socks. For now these have seemed to work for me in casual settings. They are long enough to be worn up and keep legs warm, and I don't have to worry about flashes etc. At $6 a pair, I can get lots of colors and lots of pairs. After work I change into one of my kilts, so I like having lots of socks.

So which star were you supposed to be?
Seriously, nice look! And I am going to go against the popular opinion and say that I think that the red hose tie in very nicely with the red in the kilt. I might have gone a little further and carried the red to the upper body by wearing a red tie that matches the hose. Especially if it is supposed to be a fun festive event.

A red tie is just what I was about to propose! As things are/were, your top and bottom halves are/were visually unbalanced, and a red tie would have corrected that. Otherwise, Possingk, you both look fabulous. Congratulations!

My gaaawwwd! Do I feel honored, Ham agreed with a fashion choice I proposed. I can die happy now!
Seriously, I think that it points out that there are many ways to combine a kilt and accessories, limited only to our imaginations. And the nice thing right now, is that very few people, other than Ham, actually KNOW what goes together and what doesn't! Most people are so blinded by the kilt, other than some who see it all the time on us, that we could be wearing pink polka dotted hose, court jester shoes that curl over the toe, and ruffled pirate shirts with blood stains and they might never notice! (How's that for a visual?)

What a handsome couple you make!
I'll add my opinion, for what it's worth, I'm not an expert on formal dress.
Much as I like USAK casuals, and have a couple, I think the bulk of a full 8 yard kilt such as USAK semi traditional or any other make would look better.
It would help correct that "imbalance" already mentioned.
Oatmeal or maybe black hose would look good too.
Hope you don't mind me being "picky", we're all learning, especially me.
