How is everyone in florida?

Watching the news has made me concerned about any members we may have in florida.

who do we have there and are they OK?
My prayers go out to that whole region that has suffered so much.

We just moved to Chicago from Tampa in May and still have our house down there, as well as many friends, and family. For the Tampa area it was a non-event. A little wind and rain but the sun was shining by 10:30AM yesterday morning. Haven't heard from the family in the Fort Myers area, but looks like they did OK. I think that the Keys got hit a little harder, and one of my developers has family, in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale area I think, and they got some damage from wind blown debris. Knocked out some windows, but no serious damage for them. A lot of people without power right now though.

My girlfriend lives in the Fort Lauderdale area...praise God her family was visiting up here in Georgia when the storm hit. She doesn't know whether or not her house is destroyed, but they do know the streets are in shambles. No power or water for at least 4 weeks, is what they are saying, so her family is trying to find accomodations up here.

It's been a rough couple of years for our friends in Florida...one natural disaster after another.

I've just heard from friends who live in Key West.Everyones o.k.Theres a lot of damage but nothing that can't be repaired.They,like most conches stayed and kept the tradition of partying alive.Fantasy Fest has been postponed for awhile but will be held.

If any Florida Xmarkers need a place to stay, we have a couple of rooms - and no hurricanes here. The worst we've had in the last few days of wind is a couple of trees falling way down in the valley.

I really don't know how they cope in the Gulf region. It's more than one should have to bear.
