Great thread, can't wait for more.My apologys for the lack of updates on my own progress.I've gotten about halfway finished, but I've ran into a rather nasty suprise-arthritis in my hands.I knew I had a slight case for severel years and it didn't bother me.All this handsewing has aggravated it.It's not enough to make me stop,it's just slowed my progress to a crawl. Now I'm able to take my time and really get it right.
Maybe I'm being punished for breaking the first commandment of kiltmaking-Thou shall not be hasty.

Mine is nearly done, so I'll wait until it's done to post pictures and such, as I haven't taken any yet. All I have left to do is sew in the lining and remove the basting stitches.
It's hunting stewart in Celtic Croft's homespun wool, but it works for the first one.

Chasem, keep us posted. I am interested in how the Celtic Croft's homespun wool woks for a kilt. I had thought about it as well.

As I said, it's okay for the first try. It feels light though. For example, the full eight yards with canvas and buckles feels about the same weight (total kilt weight, not oz/yd) as my stillwater standard, give or take a few ounces.
If I understand right, stillwater standards are 6-ish yards? (I just checked Stillwaters site. They state that they are 6-8 yards. I'll measure in a minute).
But, I'll be making a 6-yard kilt out of 13oz material from Lochcarron. I'm sure it'll be better of course, but I'll compare the two afterwards.

Hi guys
Had to trek down to Washington for a meeting yesterday. I haven't forgotten about my promise to post a pic! I'll get Dave to take a pic tonight and post it some time tomorrow.

OK - here goes. I have 6 pics of "the position". I'll put three in this message and three in the next, just in case there's a limit per message that I don't know about.
Cheers!
