kilted motorcyclist poster?
...It seems to me that I recall seeing a poster of a fellow named John Robinson (I think) who wrote/rode for Performance Bikes magazine. The poster showed him hiked off the left side of the bike in a kilt, knee down and the bike itself was covered in tartan. I've been searching the web the last day or so looking for a copy of it but with no luck. Any of our brothers across the pond remember this? Was that his name? I think he recently passed. By the way, don't be afraid to point out if I'm totally wrong in my recollection: I've been told the '70's were hard on me.
Bryan...thought that would be a cool poster to frame and put in the garage by the bikes and the mini-fridge...

Oh yeah, if you can remember the '70s, you're still there.

Could you be thinking of the mid '80s. They featured a BMW K1000LT on the cover (KILT,get it?). I found a site with descriptions but no pics.

No, it definitely wasn't the Blue Rondel crowd (not with the headlight and lean angle I remember). IIRC, the rider was a pretty good-sized fellow, had on a tam and goggles, too.

I think this photo by Peter Dove is pretty cool. You could contact Peter by email and maybe get to buy yourself a copy of it... But if you got the bike you can ask somebody to photograph yourself riding in a kilt.

Very cool photo, but that's not the one I remember.
Bryan...I'm not flexible enough to wear out knee pucks anymore...
