A negative slant on Kilts
I was listening to Opie and Anthony on XM yesterday. They were addressing a tv report that was upset at O&A's "Assault on the media" contest. For those of you not familiar with it, the "pests" aka fans wait until a news media sets up a live shot somewhere. Then when the camera is rolling, the pests get behind the news person and start yelling and jumping around advertising O&A.
The report falsely stated that the game was about trying to get on camera in the nude. That is not the point. The point is for advertising O&A anyway possible.
The interesting part was that the media outlets are now getting wise to the game and are advising the camera operators and the newspeople on how to avoid being caught. As part of this advice they said to watch out for people in costumes, carrying large signs, and WEARING KILTS....
Great, now the media is being taught to fear us.

Perhaps they fear what we around here call the "Braveheart Salute"?

Here is what you do.
Okay this is what you do, go down to any radio/tv station that gets/gives the anti kilt advice, then picket the station for several hours per day accusing them of being racist & sexist. Then contact the station's advertisers accusing them of racism & sexism, and telling the advertisiers in no uncertain terms that you will boycott that company's products. Hand out flyers telling others to boycott the advertizer's products. Picket the advertizer's businesses and hand out flyers Wear a kilt when you do this, teach these racist & sexist mental midgets to fear men in kilts.

Sir Robert,
Kinda tough for me. I think this news article was out of New York. Someone should give the media hell on it but I have not been able to find a copy to find out who it was. I sent an email to O&A and asked if they can send it.

I always have felt there should be a clinical diagnosis for silly people who make fools of themselves in the background of tv cameras...although, its a sad comentary on the state of "local news" that often that background activity is more interesting than the talking head doing the report...
Wait...I have it...all tv stations should have their own commercial tartan and all talking heads should be kilted in the station tartan.

Nah, it would be better if most of the talking heads were gagged and had a bag in the station tartan secured over their heads.

O and A are short for Opie and Anthony, two talentless hacks who are trying to one-up Howard Stern in the "shock jock" radio business. They were most recently fired for staging on-air copulation in St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. I used to think they were funny, but I realized that their entire schtick revolves around trying to out-do Howard, who's not even funny anymore.
