Hmm, I can touch type, so I'm able to type a post while in conversation with someone else in the room, and not even looking at the computer. I also almost always hit "Preview Post" before hitting "Submit" so I can make sure the post looks all right. If I'm unsure of a spelling, I look it up on answers.com. If one were really concerned with spelling, one could type the post in Microsoft Word or some such program with a built-in spelling checker, and then copy and paste into the X-Marks post format. I suppose none of that makes a difference if ones near-vision still can't see the computer screen though.
Andrew.

Two things I noticed where I make my major typos.
1. Extremely tired
2. Too much drink
3. Not enough drink
Hope your eyesight gets back to where it should be Jerry.

"Preview Post" is your friend. If something doesn't look right to me, I just Google the word and Google will ask me "Did you mean..." It's not fool-proof, but it works for me.

As the leading bitcher about poor spelling, I gotta tell ya, I don't care how poor the spelling is, as lomg as the effort seems to be there to type correctly.
It's the lazy/no capitals/no punctuation/abbreviate every other word that gets me riled. They can call it internet spelling, or a youth thing, but it comes down to laziness.

KCW, if I recall, there is a spell-check hack that can be added to vB.
The Webbie has this forum set up to pretty rapidly time out inactive users. For those that are not touch-typists (such as myself), the suggestion to use Word, or something similar, can have two advantages. You can type your post without the fear of trying to submit it after a time-out (can you tell it's happened to me? ) and you can spell-check the text before pasting it into the text editor on here.

How long is the timeout setting? It seems to me that I sometimes take forever putting together a post, trying to proof read it and then posting. So far I haven't had anything time out.

Reason: Dumb typos!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, Jerry. I somehow over-looked your question.

Yes, Bear, I totally agree with you. Lazy fools. Now let us talk about grammar...

Spell check for online use. Go to the Google home page and from there you can add the Google toolbar to your internet explorer. The toolbar has a spell check that works on blog posts, online applications, basically anything that you are doing online it will spell check for you.
