Welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy your first kilt.
A Burns supper in November? I thought Burns suppers were only in January around Robbie Burns day.

I didn't inaugurate it, I'm only an invitee.
I think the operative phrase here is:
"a cabin that is not accessible after the snow starts falling"
By January we typically have 200 inches of snow on the ground up here in Northern Michigan, and, with deer season over, everyone has returned to their respective homes. So, like I said, a bunch of guys with Scottish ancestors were together at the same time and said, "Hey, let's have a Burn's Dinner!" The timing was more one of convenience.

Joel,
Welcome to this band of weird and deranged kilties (OK maybe just me). Marquette is a beautiful area in the summer I know, how are the winters? Glad you jumped in.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Have a great time.

Thanks! Of course, once I see how it works, I'll have an excuse to have a "proper" Burns Dinner in January at the proper time. :-D

Welcome MacMullen,
Since your heritage is mainly German, you should consider a kilt in the German National tartan.
Here's a picture of the tartan:

A limited amount of the tartan is for sale here:
