    As Paul said, most people won't know the difference. That being said, the shoes and sporran should both be black, as that is the dressier color. Any good pair of dress shoes would be fine. Many people don't even wear the ghillies for formal wear.

    I think if you wore a regular (straight length) tie as opposed to a bow tie, you'll be fine.
