Piping up for St Andrew's Day

A MULTI-CULTURAL mix of pipes and drums will celebrate Scotland's first-ever St Andrew's Day party in the Capital.
Evan Williams, from the Boghall and Bathgate Pipe Band, and Steven Singh, from the Tartan Dohlies, met up yesterday for the launch of the festival programme.
The event will take place on the evening of Wednesday, November 30 on the Royal Mile, supported by the Scottish Executive's One Scotland campaign.
An open-air concert will be staged at the Lawnmarket with other performers including Scottish singer songwriter Dougie MacLean and ceilidh band the Peatbog Faeries. Other artists will be announced over the coming weeks for the celebrations which will showcase a selection of music and dance from Scotland's diverse cultures.
