Day 1
It came today, straight from England. My new 18oz Hector Russel MOD Black Watch kilt  took out the stiches and...as expected.....I'm totally hooked on kilts. Nothin but compliments and a few odd looks, but no more than normal for me. I was surprised at how warm it was, being so cold and windy here, but no problems. I'll take some pics sometime 8-)
Next objective....attracting the females while kilted. Somewhat of a task around here, but we'll see.
You guys have been a help....so thanks

Welcome! Boy am I jealous, an 18oz kilt! It was 15 this AM, and 3 with the wind chill, and me with no really heavy weight choices for a kilt. Went with the UK mocker as it seems to have the most material and appears to be the warmest of my current choices.
Let us know where you are!

England ??????

Apologies Johnny if you actually meant England - but I thought that H.R. only had U.K. branches in Glasgow, Inverness and Edinburgh !
You weren't by any chance thinking that the whole of the U.K. including the top half, or Scotland as it's known to most of us is, goes by the generic name of 'England' ?
Heavens to Betsy !!!
(Sunday Post readers in Scotland - for 'Heavens to Betsy', read - 'Crivvens' !)

True...
Got the kilt on e-bay for only $200 USD so it was a steal, luckily my waist is only 28". Here is North Louisiana, namely Monroe, in the US. I said from England because the guy I bought it from was from there. I wouldn't group the Scots with thier southern neighbors Low tonight of 27F....and considering where I live...thats freakin cold~!

As I throw another log into the fireplace and pull the blanket tighter around me. Its 56 outside now, I think the ice age has started. ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Guys I wore Rocky's P-V kilts all last winter, temperatures as low as 25 and windy with no problem. For those that have been, remember cold weather training? (I did it in Bridgeport, CA and Norway) Keep the torso and head warm, the legs moving and you will be just fine.
As a Scoutmaster I have camped in shorts and stockings in the snow. Only problem was getting snow in my shoes. Wet feet in the cold pretty much don't cut it.
All that said Congrats on the new kilt and I hope you enjoy it muchly.
(I"m waiting on a H-R Harris Tweed jacket I scored on ebay myself.)
