Horses, men, self ... I like that!

Granted, there are BIG differences between the field and garrison. But even in garrison, the officers should ensure the men are taken care of first. That doesn't necessarily mean all the men eat first, but make sure they will all get to eat, then go about your business. Sometimes the officers do have to grab a quick meal and head off to some meeting, but a good officer will explain that to the men and not just jump to the front of the line. Respect is a two way street. Like with the salute - the enlisted men are required to salute an officer, but in turn the officer is required to return the salute.

I remember hearing a drill pig at the Rifle Depot saying about the salute something to the effect of "you're not saluting the rupert, you're saluting the Queen through the rupert. And when he returns it, he's saluting her through you, you nasty..."

    Hey Kiltie,

I know exactly what you mean ref the Fraternal Org 78th. On the other hand it was recently related to me that several members of our 78th group in Indiana while visiting the Stewart museum were taken to the regimental stores of the 78th and allowed to purchase both yardage and the modern kilts that the Museum uses for its interpreters. For this reason Im going to order some of the Regimental tarten in 60 wide for a great kilt.
