Plankholder, MacLeod's Company, 78th Regiment of Foot (Fraser's Highlanders)
Hi Luke
I'm curious about this part of your bio, because I'm a piper in the Mohawk Valley Frasers Pipe Band (in central New York State). Our name comes from the 78th Fraser's Highland Regiment of Foot that, among other things, built Ft. Stanwix in the Mohawk Valley.
We've been around since the early 90s out here in Indiana. Picked the 78th as that was the only highland regiment that was not being done in the re-enactment community. There are actually 2 groups here in Indiana, another in way Upstate NY (Massena) and IIRC Nova Scotia. In 1995 all the recreated groups, plus the Stewart Museum kids and some of the outpost groups were all together at the 1st Fortress Louisburg Event.
My time with the group has been spotty, as I also do Native, and have been either Overseas or in North Carolina for much of the last 15 years. I did have a short stay in NY, Worked at Cooperstown at the Fennimore Art Museum as a Native Interpreter inbetween my time in the Military and my return to govt service as a contracter.
