I know it is not uncommon, there are numerous Irish and Celtic festivals in the area ( I have gone to the Classic in Bethlehem for a few years, I'm only 20 miles away) and I have friends who are kilted, but it is still fun to see confused looks on faces.

I am a 47 yr old transplanted east coaster ( I grew up in California, been east now for 23 yrs), my name is of Germanic Ancestory, but there is Irish, Scottish, and English blood more directly in my Geneology, so some wonder "why a kilt?", and I say "because I felt like it!"

This is a great board, with fantastic people from what I have been reading.

    Regards
    Mark

Welcome Mark! You are in a definitely located in an area of the country that is a hotbed of kilting! And the strange looks don't stop, but that makes it more fun. I especially like to kep an eye on people that see me from a distance and think I don't see them. They quickly point me out to whoever they are with, then will either smile (my favorite reaction), or shake their heads, or just gape. Life is good when kilted!
