When I told her I ordered a kilt she told me to wear it with pride and dignity. I was a bit baffled about her respect for the kilt, after all...kilts are not common overhere.
She explained her town was liberated in '45 by Highlanders
I think your mother's advice to wear the kilt with pride and dignity is something for all of us to remember, whether you wear traditional or non-traditional styles. After all, it is a garment worn by some of the bravist men in history. In a way, we are guardians of that proud heritage because we choose to wear the kilt.
