    Oatmeal kilt hose

I was under the impression that oatmeal kilt hose was a heathery gray color, but now some of the pics I've seen show it to be more like a very light tan-brown.

all right, sort of the color of oatmeal. *DOH*

OK, you who know, how would you describe "oatmeal"?

And while we're at it, where can I find some heathery gray kilt hose??!!

Not sure whether they are heathery grey, but the SK gray hose are a light ash gray. Just got a pair and they will match great with one of my corporate logo-ed button down shirts. I can post pictures of them and the other SK hose I recently received.

    You might try these guys,
    http://www.hamiltondrygoods.com/sock.html

I ordered a pair of the cream kilt socks but he has more in stockc than can be found on his web site. It's better to give him a call to see if he has any "one of".

I've not had a chance to wear them out yet but will this week. I did slip them on to see what "over the knee" meant. They came about 3 inches past my knee without really pulling. This gave me a very nice cuff at the top. With my over sized calfs they also were not restricting.

    Thanks, Gents!

KCW, I don't see gray socks on the SK web site. Am I missing something, here?

Cavscout, those gray kilt hose are OK on substantial calves, eh? I'm liking THAT bit of information. I wish they had a bit of a cable pattern to them, though.

The Scottish Merchant in Alexandria Virginia has some heathery grey ones. I was just there this evening picking up some more winter socks. They can be reached online at www.scottishmerchant.com but you can't actually order on there. You need to call it in at 703-739-2302 and ask for Doris

Give him a call. He told me he did have a tan pair that had a celtic knot down the side. You may be able to get him to make a quantity of them. He offered me the socks at $6/pr if I'd buy 10.

Come to find out, they sell on ebay and have a bunch of kilt socks up there right now for cheap, so I bought pair of "bulky kilt socks" in "heathery-tan". $11 includes shipping. Huzzah.

I e-mailed and asked about "bulky kilt socks" for mens shoe size 12 in gray.

    Fingers crossed.

Yup - oatmeal is, well....oatmeal-colored, which is _definitely_ not gray, unless you've left it in the fridge too long and it has some interesting mold on it!!
