If you get enough takers I'd go for 4 meters.

Steve, thanks for letting me know how much I'd need for plaid and flashes.
But the real meaning of my question was, how many meters does that work out to?
Glassman,
With respect, I would suggest that instead of taking Steve's valuable time to do your imperial/metric conversions for you, you make use of any of the several conversion websites that are freely available to us all.
The best of these, to my mind, is at:

Bravo Ham! You have made it to the world of the technical elite! Now we can rely on you for everything, kilt advice, kilt fashion advice, travel advice for the UK, and also Internet advice. Your talents will never cease to amaze me!
Disclaimer: While the preceding announcement is meant "tongue in cheek", the opinions of the poster do reflect his own thoughts and the appropriateness of suggesting an on-line converter. However, giving Ham a hard time is also intended! :-D

Steve, I will be in, based on timing! I know you don't want to hear that, as you need to have people firmly committed, but that is the best I can do right now.
And for the record, I think that you are smart to tack on a handling/processing/ordering/coordination fee this time. Doing this takes your time from some place else, whether it is making kilts, spending time with your family, or sleeping, you should rightfully expect some kind of reimbursement for your time.

Thanks Ham! I didn't even know that website existed. It's now bookmarked for future reference.

"What sort of timeline are you proposing, Steve?, he asked while anticipating some unavoidable extra expenditures as the ramp-up to the holiday season begins.

Nobody get your knickers in a pinch. I'm not suggesting we place an order tomorrow.
I was thinking of testing the temp of the pool with the hopes of people having time to put some money away.
And definatly not this holiday season.
How does sometime in the spring or early summer sound to the membership?

Well damn, I am glad that is cleared up! I hate wearing knickers as much as I hate wearing pants! Glad I don't have to get them pinched!
Wait, pinched means stolen! Quick, somebody pinch my knockers!
Anyway, spring or early summer sounds great to me, maybe get everybody lined up and funds secured by late spring, then we could expect the cloth sometime in the summer?
