Very sweet of you wife. I figure you'll enjoy either one you purchase.

Brian, I would also go for the Nightstalker. It is a very cool tartan, and can be easily dressed up or down (I know most tartans can, but the simple black and white seems to make this one especially so!). As far as I know the acrylic can be machine washed and hung to dry. Haven't actuall needed to wash mine yet.

    Congrats!

The Nightstalker is the only SWK I have in my kilt collection. I've washed it a few times and let it hang dry with no negative consequences.

It does seem to go with everything, however it has drawn a few disapproving looks from a few elderly females in my Church who used to do Scottish dancing. They don't feel it's a real kilt because it's not a "real" tartan.

I told them that I like it so I wear it.

Talking I bow to the collective wisdom of Xmarks.

I just put in a bid for a SWK in Nightstalker (in size fat), not available anywhere else, and a price too good to be true.

Also no drycleaning bills, much happiness.

Sure wish SWK would break down and offer custom length so I could get one and see what you folks are all so thrilled about.

We all have our personal likes an dislikes....A $200 gift like that would have me checking out a couple SportKilts with pleats, A USAKilt Semi-traditional, Freedom Kilts new stuff, or the UK site...maybe have to chip in a bit extra from my own coffers...or even take a flying leap of financial faith and use it for the fabric down payment on a hand sewn traditional from Kathy Lare in my choice of tartan....

Another thought was to stock up on those accessories we're always short of, flashes, kilt hose, belts, sporrans...they'd eat up $200 in short order too.

Dang, money in our hands soon turns to kilts! :-?

I have a Black Watch and a Black Stewart from SWK. The Black Stewart arrived this week, in 2 days time!

I just bid on a Nightstalker on ebay so hope to add that one very soon.

I had the choice and picked the Black Stewart a few days ago and was glad I did when it arrived. The kilt looks great and is soooo much better than the pics on his website. I chose it over the Nightstalker because I wanted a little more traditional looking kilt.

Just happen to get my bonus check earlier than expected so having to pick turned out moot! Now I get both. In fact I have placed three orders now within a week to SWK! I feel for those who haven't gotten a chance to pick on of these little gems up. You can't beat them for price and quality. And the service is the best I have ever had period.

The only problem with SWK is the bad pics they have on thier site. They don't do the kilts justice at all.

Get both if you can swing it!
