J. Higgins - anyone try their jackets?
Hi all.
Most often I don't sport a jacket when kilted because I'm not a big 'events' attendee. However, with Christmas and holiday events looming, I find the only bit of kit I really need is a semi-formal/formal jacket.
I may end up renting for the moment since my body size in decreasing but, depending on the rental price, a purchase might make more sense. I can always eBay or XMarket it later. Figuring I'm about a 50Reg right now, J. Higgins offers an Argyl or Kilt jacket for $219. That's much more attractive than the usual $350/400 I see for us full-figured lads.
My hesitation: I've not dealt with them before and don't recall seeing much if anything about them here on the forums. Anyone have experience with them and their products?
Thanks!
DD

Members of our band and other people in our area have bought from them and they have all liked their kilts, jackets, jabot shirts, hose tops.....well you get the idea. I have seen their PCs and they appear to be very well tailored. They have never let me down and I have ordered two doublets from them. Both fit well and look good. For the price, that is a good deal. Just my thoughts from my experience.

I can say nothing but good things about J Higgins. They are the official supplier for my pipe band (kilts, spats, sporrans, doublets, etc.) as well as my personal goods. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They have gone above the call of duty on many occasions for me. I just received my new Drum Majors doublet in October and all I can say is WOW!! I have received several positive comments on it including fellow Drum Majors.
