Days is still around. My wife is an addict and records it every day to watch after work. And people wonder why I take refuge in the back room.

No Sherry "Poorley" is how watching these programmes makes me feel!! haha
I think The telly is an interesting refection on our cultures, especially differences in humor, Will and Grace/Freinds/ Sienfeld/cheers -Myself and most people I know cant see any humor at all in these programmes and yet I know that they are very successful " comedys" now the Simpsons if quite funny but normally at American cultures expense (in a nice way I hope).
I watche the American version of "the office" but having seen the British version its changed so much for american tastes.
I think amercan humor is more obvious and Zany, whereas a little subtlety is more successful in the UK, Billy Connely has managed to span several continents although he has toned down his accent and I think maybe he alters his style for "continental" tastes

I seem to recall a survey in Europe somewhere and the general view was that Homer Simpson most represented the American male.

To many Americans, Benny Hill is considered the height of British Humor.

I'm hard pressed to find anything to like on network TV here in the states but we like Keeping up Appearances and Are You Being Served reruns so well on the BBC that we are working on buying all the series as they come out on DVD.
Are there any current "Brit-coms" like those today in the UK? I really need to look closer at the BBC's schedule.

I have seen ads for "Little Britain" & some other British sitcoms on BBC America, & I see nothing subtle about them! A three hundrend+ pound naked woman, no matter how much the film has been blurred, is not subtle! <shudder>

My wife and I look forward to watching the Monarch reruns when we can. It was a great show with some first class comedy!
I enjoy the "Brittish" humour, here in the US they think Comedy must be shoved down your throat to be funny sometimes.
Comedy, and humor for that matter are delicate in timing and nature, unless you are only looking for shock value!
