Yeah I was a little disappointed with them too. That's sad because for me they're local

Sadly, my own experience with Clansman Knitwear mirrors Scibaer and Clancelt's. The latest adventure is still ongoing and has yet to be resolved.
Details are on the Kilt Review board at http://kiltreview.com/ under the Chit Chat section. My Experience with Clansman Knitwear.
I also had a prior poor experience where the owner insisted he gave me the correct Macdonald clan emblem on a t shirt, was just the ancient Macdonald emblem...with a raven rather than the usual mailed fist and cross. Then the imprint of the word Macdonald was also redone faintly from the shirt being folded before the ink was dry.
In fairness, I have bought from them at highland games when the goods were right there for me to examine and take with me after I paid for them.
Main thing this order was that the goods, said to be in stock in Vallejo, CA were eventually drop shipped from Kearsarge, NH and a portion of the order was backordered without notice. I had to advise them I was short and they didn't even know the shortage had been ordered, even though it was clearly on the order acknowledgement from them weeks ago...also seems that when the owner is out of town their staff has no access to copies of orders received...had to email a copy to them to get things rolling weeks after the owner promised prompt shipment.
Have also gone many days without a response to email inquiry...anyway, its all documented for your consideration on the kilt review board.
Not down on them, just firmly believe that one of the benefits of boards like this and kilt review is to be able to share information and point each other to great outfits and deals and warn of poor service and rip offs. And, no, not saying Clansman Knitwear is a rip off, just poor service.

I've posted all of this before, so I won;t say everything again. However I agree about the bad service. My kilt package was ordered in February and I finally got everything near the end of September. That was only after numerous un-answered phone calls and emails to Ralph. I finally got some answers and started receiving items (one at a time) after I filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Of course the first email after that was more aout me being unreasonable and about what a fine reputation his company had. All I can say is buyer beware. Like I said earlier, though, one good thing which came out of the whole thing is that I bewcame a member of this forum

LOL, that's why you get all of those great reviews when you google them
I got the same line. I also did not get mine until I filed a BBB complaint. I have a feeling all of those "clearance kilts" are the ones that got returned or the buyers got their money back on(or at least I hope they did). That alone means they are already cursed with bad karma.
I won't go over all my dealings with Ralph again. Lets just say the truth is not something that Ralph speaks native.
