Heres another tip for kilt hunting. Almost everywhere you go,the clothing is sorted into mens and womens. Most of the kilts I've seen were in with the womens clothing. Good luck.

I collect first editions and autographed ones. Mostly classic fiction, but some modern authors such as Stephen King, Ted Sturgeon, Ray Bradbury etc.

In the Summer we have a lot of Yard sales but I have yet to see kilts. A lot of 100% wool sweaters for $5 or less.

Thats something I've given serious thought to. Up till now I've only bought the ones that were close to my size and thus easily tailored.

I love estate sales. My old fire captain clued me in one the idea. When we were in between drills and calls at the fire house we'd all get on the engine and hit the estate sales on the weekend. Officially we were doing a house survey to get better acquainted with the interiors of homes in our area, but we were really shopping.

I've picked up an old victrola, lots of antique manual typewriters, and some amazing silver objects at estate sales. My last great find was a pair of solid silver table lighters for $5 each! If they'd been cleaned up and sold at auction, because of the maker and the condition they would have sold for at least $300 according to the antique guides.

Sadly, no kilts yet at any of the sales.
