    Tono,

Just out of curiousity, do you know who designed the Valencian tartan? Maybe knowing some of the tartan's history would help you to convince the Valencian officials to adopt yours.

It was made by a woman called Maria LLuïsa Luces-Feig (although I think that there's a mistake and the surname should be "Reig", as my second surname is), and it's registered at the Scottish Tartans Authority, with the ITInº 003890, ... that's the only I know about it, but surely at that institution they should have more info. Unfortunately I'm not a member, so cannot see the details about it!.

On the other side, I've thought about offering a conmemorative tartan for that 32nd. America's Cup of sailing in 2007, apart of the "Valencia" tartan that I found here. It will be a good chance to take profit of their impulse to promote this event all around the globe. So, wish me luck!, and if you can locate Mrs. Luces, gimme the contact and I'll try to express to her my gratitude for such a great job!

    Seeya man! ¡Salud!

    Talking Let's re-conquer america!... lol

If our euro-champion Alinghi (FROM SUCH A SAILOR'S COUNTRY AS SWITZERLAND IS) follows up with the competition as they're doing since now,I'm afraid that europeans will re-conquer the America...Cup again! .... For me, as Spain has its own defiance ship ( we are fourth or fifth, I think, on the rank), I'll support our people. On the other side, I hope that Alinghi wins again and chooses Valencia as their permanent base for future editions... maybe I'll have the chance of have one of my kilts approved by the organisation and become a famous tartan!

Thumbs up back to the trail!

Yeah, I agree with you that the online "weaver" is a litle limited in it's range of colours, but, on the other side, I think this can be more authentical, in the sense that u must squeeze ur brain to obtain so different designs with them, and that also in "auld" Alba they would have done the same. The availability of colours could be quite limited in middle ages!!

Thanks for taking us back to the trail, man! and, because of this,... can you vote two of the six options I offered at the beginning in order to know which one would you prefer to be presented as Conmemorative for the next America's cup?

At the moment, the votes (counting mine) are:

    -Ancient................3
    -Hunting1 (blue).....1
    -Hunting2 (last)......2

    ¡Salud!

P.S.: And the Cup is for sailing!... Cutty Sark would have to put a boat on the race too!

Also for me, Sherry, that's why I started this voting. My main surprise has been the acceptance of the "Ancient" design, as I considered it from the begginning to be the worst of them as it was just the first "experiment"!!!!

I'm gonna go for the hunting (green). I tend to like ancients because of the lighter colors, but that hunting looks great.

    Thumbs up ratings!

well, at the moment, it seems that we have three finalists:

    -Ancient................3
    -Hunting1 (blue).....2
    -Hunting2 (green)......3

C'mon people, There are a lot of you who have seen this thread, vote and make this be decided. The two most voted of all six will be offered to be the conmemorative tartan for new America's cup in my homeland!
