    New guy in Maryland.

Hi folks. I've been lurking here a while. I don't know if
I'll have much to add. I'll probably have more to ask.

I've only seen a couple people post from Maryland,
and only seen one person wearing a kilt near Baltimore
(outside of Renaissance Festivals and pipe concerts).

I don't have the funds for a tank, so I have a canvas
kilt I made myself similar to a UK. Regardless of what
I've read here, I find it to be COLD wearing it outside
now. I'm planning on making one double thickness to
see if it is any warmer.

Welcome! Dave from Frederick hasn't chimed in yet, but he seems to be the most prolific of the Marylanders on the board. I only live minutes from the MD border, so keep your eye out for kilt nights!

Canvas isn't going to be warm. I'd suggest picking up some wool fabric at a nearby fabric store. After a bit of experience I've found wool is the best for winter.

    Welcome Robinhood,

Definitely go with the wool, it will be cold by Harborplace. It killed me to spend the money on my kilt, so glad I did. Now I need another kilt.

I am down 95 but go to Baltimore regularly. Such as this weekend. So if you see someone in a kilt this Sunday say hello, it may be me.
