First "general" wearing of my kilt

Well, today was the first time I wore my kilt out other than for highland games or halloween. Went Christmas shopping at three different places all over town. The first comment I received was "where's your bagpipes?" from an elderly woman at the first store. The three of us (the lady, the clerk and I) talked about kilts and Scotland some before I left. The second store was a Celtic store I've been in before, this time I had the kilt and the guy that works there didn't. We laughed at that. The third store was Coldwater Creek and the women in there loved it. One told me that she had a kilt, another couldn't stop talking about how great it was. Then there was the one that ALMOST asked what was under it. All in all a great day.

    Livingston,

Glad to hear this. It sounds like you had a good day of it.

Just out of curiosity was that Celtic Shop in the Citadel Mall?

When Tracy and I go to Aspen Grove for the Coldwater Creek store its usually worth a spin past the rest of the shops on our way to Ted's for a beer and bison burger afterwards. I don't know what it is about that shopping center but if I ever need an ego boost, that's the spot.

Thanks for the link. It looks like a nice store, and one I'll have to put on my list next time I'm in Denver.

Joel, This store is in Colorado Springs. We both have a street named Colorado but here in the Springs it's Ave and in Denver it's Blv'd. There is also a small shop in the Citadel Mall here. Haven't found any others yet but always hope to run across another.

With two in Colorado Springs and two in the Denver area, along with one in Idaho Springs, the front range of Colorado is becoming a great source of Celtic Culture. Let alone all the pubs that cater to the Celtic interests.

I know about the one in Littleton, where is the other in Denver?

I know of at least 4 bars with a Celtic name/interest here in the Springs. One is the Margarita at Pine Creek. They have a Celtic band in there the 3rd friday of the month.

    It gets better

It gets better. Most of the time I get little snickers or finger pointing. On my last leave home, one of the women at the airport was giving me funny looks. I walked up and told her...."go ahead, I know you want to say something", and she looked at me and said.."your hot". And it's moments like that that make all the little snide remarks worth it.
