It gets better. Most of the time I get little snickers or finger pointing. On my last leave home, one of the women at the airport was giving me funny looks. I walked up and told her...."go ahead, I know you want to say something", and she looked at me and said.."your hot". And it's moments like that that make all the little snide remarks worth it.

I had an older women, maybe late 50s drive up alongside me in a parking lot this summer. I had my traditional Taylor tartan kilt on. She stopped and said: " boy if I could whistle .."
I said Thank you.
