I have the Sportkilt green maltese cross sporran and love it. It's my every-day sporran and always draws compliments. It's very rugged and stands up to all sorts of abuse without any signs of pre-mature wear and tear - even when my dog decides it makes the perfect stepping stone on her way to give me kissies!

But the price sure has gone up since I bought mine back in March!

    Ok...I received my sporran today.

I only have time for a real quick review:

    Don't buy one.

The transaction went smoothly, and I received the product in a very timely fashion, but it really isn't worth much. It will do for as much as I will probably need it, though.

I'll write more about it soon.

Now that I have a bit more time, here is a better review:

My sporran was ordered on 12/20 and it arrived at my door on 12/23. Not bad as fars as shipping speed, and shipping only cost $6.95

I was first surprised at how thin and light the package it arrived in seemed. Once opened, I found the sporran to be a bit compressed. With use, I'm sure it will expand. It looks very good to the eye, but it does seem cheeply made. The "leather" (I'm not really sure it's even leather, but I think it is) is very thin, and almost cardboard like.

I'm used to the only other sporran I own, which is a Buzz Kidder. I can't really compare this to any other sporran, unfortunately. One thing I'm not sure if I'll like or not is that the front flap itself does not have the snap closure on it. Lift up the flap and there is a small piece of leather attached to the back of the sporran with a snap attached. I probably won't even bother snapping it shut.

I do like the fact that the tassles are adjustable. from the inside of the sporran, I can make them longer or shorter.

The belt included is made of the same cardboard-like material (I actually expected the entire belt to be chain, but it's not). The buckle seems like an inexspensive piece of tin.

I don't expect to wear this sporran much, so until I can upgrade kilt (wearing a USAK Philabeg right now) to a Tank, I think this will do. It should serve the purpose that it's intended for.

Overall, I probably would not buy from this company again, however, because the craftsmanship is not up to par.

Brian, it really is a case of you get what you pay for. A cheap sporran will be a cheap sporran. I suspect that it's thin leather over bag stiffener such as one I have. That makes it feel a bit like cardboard. At these low prices you really can't expect good quality leather, even on the chain strap.
