    Smile The future of kilts

I believe that children should be use to seeing men in kilts. In my neighborhood a 12-year-old girl asked many questions the first time she saw me in a kilt. The department's secretary's grandson learned about kilts after seeing me hiking in one. The future of kilts lies with the young and their familiarity with men in kilts.

All the neighborhood kids know me, especially because I go out in my power chair to walk the dog and they love to play with my doggie. And their parents are all our friends. A couple of the parents have told me that their sons (ranging from 5th graders to high school kids) have asked if they can get a kilt too!

My favorite response was from a parent who actually went looking for one as a Christmas present for her young son (6th grade). After seeing the prices she told him that he'd have to wait until he was done growing. A kilt was too expensive to buy every year when he outgrew it!

I didn't think that SWK made kilts that small. This little guy is only about 4 feet tall.

Tom, I bet the kids really enjoyed all the costumes.

Phillip, there is a lot of growth room built into boys' kilts. They have hems for letting out, so they last longer than a parent might first think. But at her boy's age, she might be letting out that hem at a pretty good pace.

    Tom,

    Huzzah!

Glad that you can share the universality of kilt wearing!
