Just checked, current total 8716! This is getting crazy! Got to agree with glassman and MacMullen though, he would have done his cause much better by dressing for the photo, but then again he may not have realized how widely distributed that photo would have become. I think that might be a lesson to the rest of us to always represent ourselves well.

I don't think any of us thought it would get this big.

I think we should all be taking advantage of the explosion of this story today by standing up and showing our support for Nathan by going out kilted today/tonight. My wife and I are headed out shortly for her birthday (dinner and a movie). I hadn't had the kilt on for several weeks. Felt great to put it on and wear it proud!

I just read about this story on CNN (sorry, I haven't been on Xmarks lately outside of the Kilt Nights forum...) and boy was I seeing red.
I'd love to drive down to this school and have that wee principal call me a clown to my face. Probably a good thing it's too long a drive. ;-)

Nathan's Photo
Nathan didn't know that a photographer was going to come take his pic to put on the net or anywhere. He had just gotten home from his workout after school & the whole thing took him off guard. He knew there was to be an interview but no one knew that pics were to be taken.

Would this, perhaps be Mrs. Warmack?
It's not surprising that the press would aim to catch him off guard, even if it wasn't intentional. I suppose that they don't know anymore about kilts than the avg. person, so the photographer wouldn't be likely to say, "Take your time getting ready." I suppose it was more, "Hey, why don't you run up and put on your kilt real quick!"

Nathan's Photo
Exactly. The photographer just told him to put his kilt on & Nathan wanted to know if he should put on what he wore to the dance & he said no just the kilt. But donations have been made for Nathan to have his whole Scottish formal wear & he is looking forward to it. As a football player these guys don't have time to work during that time of year & Nathan's last game was on Nov. 4th so he purchased what he could. And yes this is Nathan's mother.
