    2. I'm also up for a kilt meet-up. There are several of us around here now and we SHOULD get together. We'll be back in NoVA on the evening of the 27th so we can go from there.

Got to sign off now as I have to shower and "kilt-up" for Christmas Eve dinner with my inlaws. (About 22 of them) Should be a nice evening. We're in Canada and I'm not the only kilt wearer in the family. Although these folks seem to reserve them for weddings, funerals and formal military dress. Maybe I can change their minds.

PS. Anyone know of any Scottish shops in Windsor Ontario? Big Paul? You're close, anyone else?

    Merry Christmas,

    Dee
I know exactly where the shop is in Alexandria so maybe we can all meet up out here in Fairfax and drive down in one car. And I'd love to manage a get together one weekend and top it off with a group road-trip to Warrenton too!

    Let's talk after X-Mas.

Wink 3 cheers for Scottish Merchant

The prices are pretty reasonable since you consider that they have to pay rent for a building in Old Town! ;-)

    Here's there info:

The next closest shop is in Winchester, VA! That's why I've had to do much of my shopping by mail-order or over the Internet.

I did get a batch of kilt-socks from The Scottish Merchant recently and have been very pleased. The lady who runs the kilt side is Doris Swisshelm.

    Hope that helps!

If you want to make a run down there together (since I know exactly where it is) let me know. I'd be happy to meet up with you and head down. I can always use more kilt stuff.
Ditto on the scottish merchant . I was there today and they were very helpful
I picked up a pair of Ghillie Brogues and a flask for a christmas present ;)

When are you going to be up this way? Maybe we should try to hold a kilt meet-up.
I was just looking over some old threads and came across this. I'm going to have to make a trip down there myself. It's just a little over an hour south of me on US 15. Something to do one weekend afternoon.

Foggy braincells here, but didn't there also used to be a Scottish shop over in Williamsburgh, VA? I'm talking 30 years ago...??

Yes, in Merchant's Square, just outside the Colonial area on Duke of Gloucester St.

I'm usually down there around Christmastime every year.

I may have to check it out sometime when I go visit my brother in Hampton.
