Very nice, Robin. Congratulations on the purchase that will last at least a lifetime, if it's well cared-for. I'm a HUGE fan of Lochcarron kilts, having three of them in various tartans and weights.

Thank you all...thank you!
On a side note, what's the tartan in your avatar?
The Isle of Skye tartan...I ordered kilt nr.2 before I got nr.1
btw, your room is looking a bit stark. Must've spent all the money on the kilt instead of furniture, eh?
Err...well...it's between the living room and the dining room...design furniture is my wife's hobby. With a "less is more" idea behind it (very good because design furniture is filthy expensive  )
Quick question, too: How did you order the kilt? I went to the Lochcarron web site, and I disn't see any info on ordering kilts.
Lochcarron has no online shop...must find a retailer who can order a kilt by them. My 1st was ordered online by Highland traveller/Scottisch Touch, nr.2 I ordered by a local piper who runs a small shop.

Maybe send Lochcarron an email and ask for a retailer list?

Robin,
That is one very fine kilt. Although I don't have a Lochcarron-made kilt, I know their fabrics well and had every faith that their kiltmaking would live up to your hopes and expectations. It is a truly spectacular tartan and one that I believe I could be happy wearing too...........;) ;)

With 6 (bright red, bottle green, lovat blue, black, yellow and white) colours it's indeed an eye catcher
For daywear I must stick to "earthy" colours for the rest of the outfit...or I'll look like a walking Christmas tree or like Las Vegas by night
