    Kilted Highland Art

I thought that I would share a really terrific piece that my wife, a professional artist, just completed for a friend who has a family connection to the Clan Drummond.

Just to brag a little ... my wife uses a technique that uses a pane of glass rather than a canvas for her work. She then mounts the glass behind another pane of glass for protection and a distinct 3D look. She has been very successful using this medium and it has bought me a kilt or two :-)

For this piece she took inspiration from McIan's color plate of Clan Drummond. If anyone is interested in more info on perhaps having one of your own from your clan plate just PM me.

Thanks for letting me brag :-)

For a fellow X-Marks member, for a standard 8x10 (what is in the pic) with the frame (not including shipping) ... $95.

    Thumbs up

Hey can she do an Irish National or Irish American and substitute another face like mine or my sons'?

She would need a very detailed photo of you (or your son's) facial features; however, she does charge $145.00 and up for custom, personalized work. The Irish National tartan would not be a problem (the tartan color is not considered custom; however, the portrait work is). Please PM me if you want additional information.

I love the art! striking, to the point...a hint of pop-art, just very nice.

I think the frame really makes it stand out.
    I disagree...I don't like the frame

Nice artwork--AND...how nice of your wife to work for your kilts!

OTOH, maybe she is doing for herself. ;-)
